Where can I get info on multiple personalities?

Answer

Hi Mary,

Thank you for your question about finding information on multiple personalities.  You don't specify what types of sources you need, so I've included information on how to find books, how to search databases for articles, and links to credible websites to check.

Try searching these keywords:

  • Multiple personality
  • Dissociative disorder
  • Dissociative identity disorder

For Books, search the CatalogUse your keywords in the search box; your results will be a list of books and how to access them.

For Articles, from the Library Homepage click on Articles.

(As of fall 2022, you no longer need an HFC library card (barcode) to access the library’s databases from off campus.  Please use your HFC username and password to log in.)

Once you click on Articles, use your search terms in these databases:

  • Gale eBooks (formerly Gale Virtual Reference Library)
  • Ebook Collection (Wilson/EBSCO)
  • Gale General Onefile
  • Gale Academic Onefile - use this if you need scholarly articles (make sure to check the "Peer Reviewed Journals" box)
  • Social Science Abstracts  - use this if you need scholarly articles (make sure to check the "Peer Reviewed Journals" box)
  • Use your keywords in the search boxes and limit your searches to full text if this option is available.  From your list of results, open articles by clicking on the name of the article or the full text icon. This may be different depending on which database you use.  Once you have your result list, it can be sorted by relevance or date.  From your list of results, open articles by clicking on the name of the article or the full text icon. This may be different depending on which database you use.
  • If you would like to view videos on using the databases, click on the following links.

I hope that I helped you with your request, but if you need more assistance, please don't hesitate to contact your HFC Librarian.
