Can you help me find articles about the Flint Water Crisis?
Answer
Thank you for your question about finding articles on the Flint Water Crisis.
You didn’t ask for books but sometimes it is helpful just to take a quick look at a book’s index or table of contents and get a quick overview of your topic. If you like that idea
To find Books on your topic:
- Go to the Library Homepage click on Books.
- In the first Advanced Keyword search box use Flint
- Use two more keywords in the other search box
- "Lead poisoning" or "lead exposure"
- Drinking water
- water pollution
- Results will be a list of books and how to access them.
To find Articles on your topic:
- Go to the Library Homepage click on Articles.
(As of fall 2022, you no longer need an HFC library card (barcode) to access the library’s databases from off campus. Please use your HFC username and password to log in.)
Use the same keywords in these databases:
- Gale Academic OneFile
- Gale General OneFile
- Wilson/EBSCO Databases
- Limit your searches to Full Text if this option is available.
- Open articles by clicking on the name of the article
For additional resources, try the following:

I hope that I have provided you with the help you asked for, but if you need more assistance, please don't hesitate to contact your HFC Librarian.
