I need help with APA I don't know how to to do an annotated bibliography in APA.

Answer

Thank you for your question about needing help with APA.  You didn’t mention what type of help you needed, so I am providing you with a broad overview of APA information.

First, you will want to check with your teacher and verify if you need to use the 6th edition of the APA Style Manual.  That is because the latest version of the APA Publication Manual, the 7th edition, was released on October 1, 2019 and your class might be using the new edition.

If you don’t know where to start, welcome, we have all been there.

For additional resources, try the following websites:

  • Academic Writer Tutorial  Trying to understand an APA style manual when you have never before written a paper for college can be a bit overwhelming.  This step by step tutorial using APA 7th ed. will help you understand the basic elements of a paper, format and organization, the academic writing style, grammar and usage, provide you with bias-free language guidelines, mechanics of style, tables and figures, explain in-text citations and quotations, as well as the format of the reference list and order.  If this describes you, try this self-paced tutorial.
  • APA Style Blog  Official APA style information. Search for your question in their search box.
  • APA 6th vs. 7th If  you have always used the 6th edition and now your teacher says you have to use the 7th edition, your question might be: “What changed?” This will give you a nice overview of the differences between the two editions.
  • Purdue OWL  The Online Writing Lab (OWL) at Purdue University houses writing resources and instructional material.  Notice this link opens to the APA 7th edition, but you can also choose to refer to the APA 6th edition.
  • Henry Ford College also has a Writing Center which can help you with your paper, including citations.

I hope that I have provided you with the help you asked for but you need more assistance, please don't hesitate to contact us and with your question.
